If you have ever used MFCMAPI then you will know it’s very powerful for managing your Inbox, obviously, for this application to work, you need to have Outlook installed as it uses outlook commands to connect to your mailbox.
Note : The version of Outlook installed which can be x32 or x64 - you will need to match your version with MFCMAPI else it will not read the Outlook profile.
You can also need a valid profile that points the correct inbox set up an Outlook, which will then get used by MFCMAPI, so lets start the application can connect to the Outlook profile in this example we will use MFCMAPIx64:
Then we need to click Session and choose Logon....
Then we need to choose the relevant Outlook profile, here we have used the default created by Outlook:
You will then see a list of mailboxes you have access to as below, you need to double click on the one you need to look at, in this example I will use the top option:
When you open that folder you will notice there are limited options and if you expand the "Top of Information Store" you will notice that you do not see "Recoverable Folders" as below:
If this is the case then you need to close that window click Session>Logoff, when disconnected navigate to Tools>Options
Then you put a tick in the options below:
Reconnect to the Outlook profile then open the mailbox items and notice the list is longer this time around as below and you can now see more folders:
You will notice that you now have a "Recoverable Items" which was not there before:
