If you have an iPhone and you have been unable to backup the device for a long time and you try to restore the content from a previous backup you may get the error:
"iTunes could not restore the iPhone X because the backup was corrupt or not compatiable with the iphone"
I found my solution by opening the file Info.plist in Wordpad in the following location:

If you notice here that the product string is stated as v2.0.1 however I have version v2.0.2 installed on my iPhone so you need to download the v2.0.1 firmware to get this backup working!
