I am back on the Bioshock drug....and wow is it powerful.....it consumers your life as time means nothing when playing this game....the game outline is described as follows:
If you run this on a Win32 platform (like I do) you need to make sure that your OS is stable before playing the game otherwise you will get Bioshock.exe errors which will really piss you off...by this I mean you need to make sure that the following conditions have been fufilled (if you want a simple insert DVD and play then get a pissing XBOX360 or PS3 you lame sod!)
1. Stop all unnecessary service(s)
2. Stop all monitoring software (Everest, HWInfo, Sisoft Sandra)
3. Stop the Tablet Service for XP/Vista
4. Stop the Automatic Update Service
5. Ensure you have the latest graphics drivers installed
6. Disable you Antivirus System (if you use Norton, Symantec or McAfee)
7. Disable you personal firewall (if you use Norton, Symantec or McAfee)
8. Unload any Media Software (WIndows Media Player, iTunes, JetAudio...)
9. Update Bioshock to the latest version here
10. Mount the Bioshock ISO in Daemon Tools
If you want to experience Bioshock with all details in 1280*1024 then you will need to ensure you have a GeForce 8800GTX with 512MB of GDDR3 RAM with DirectX 9.0c installed and optimised...in addition to this you will need to make sure that you run Bioshock with the command:
This forces the game to you DirectX 9 not DirectX 10....if you run this game in DirectX 10 then be prepared for a shock when the water scenes start....if you require DirectX 10 then you need Vista (good-luck) and you need to to make Vista stable (good-luck again)
Anyway here are some screenshots of the wicked game....
This "genetically enhanced" first-person shooter lets you do things never before possible in the genre: turn everything into a weapon, biologically mod your body with plasmids, hack devices and systems, upgrade your weapons and craft new ammo variants, and experiment with different battle techniques in an incredibly unique underwater city.
